It is called a wild card tournament and last year Bradenton’s Tammy Hendler used the event at The Oaks Club in Osprey as a start to a wild ride that did not end until she had reached the semifinals of a $25,000 USTA women’s pro circuit tournament.
Hendler, who will be playing in Asia, will miss a chance to repeat as the wild card champion, but there will be plenty of other players willing to step up and take a shot this year at the event to be played March 18-20 at The Oaks. Read more here.
